Rogues finally nerfed. Empty Rogues finally nerfed.

Developers had been rather comfortable with Rogues for the past few patches. A few minor changes, some new weapons and that was it. Then a new spec became rather popular in Arenas and Blizzard had to do something.

Fan of Knives: The damage done by this ability has been reduced by 30%
Throwing Specialization: This talent no longer causes Fan of Knives to interrupt spellcasting.

Okay now trying to look at this constructively without screaming THIRTY FUCKING PERCENT at my laptop, I really can't see why they've reduced the damage so much. Once you've taken away the interrupt affect there is little reason to use FoK in Arenas as heavily as it was being used, so why take away so much of the damage?

Well it's still only the first outing of this change on the PTR and 3.2.2 is way over a month away at the least so it could change, but this is a pretty hefty nerf to a spec I hadn't got the chance to play yet. Guess I'll check it out and see what all the fuss is about.

Throwing Specialisation (3.2.2 Version): Increases the range of Throw and Deadly Throw by 2 yards. (0/2)

What a wonderful talent. We must bring back improved distract too!

First off as a disclaimer, I've never played a rogue besides an alt that stranded on 59, so I may not have a clue what the fuck i'm talking about.

Basically, as you told me FoK was the single highest dmg AoE skill in the game, I thought that was a bad thing. Rogues have a lot of utility, but I really dont see why they should be a strong AoE class. In fact apart from usefullness in instances I dont really see why so many classes need AoE skills to be honest, druids included. In the old days you had to actually pick a group and use control etc, now you can just pick whatever and AoE your way trough every instance and heroic (mostly to blame here is the fact that mobs dont run away into other groups anymore).

Now, 30% is indeed feckin huge. Then again, what will it actually change. AoE grinding will be seriously less effective for rogues, but then again a lot of other classes never had that ability and for a long time neither did rogues, is it really a big deal? PvE I imagine it doesnt matter much apart from some dps on trash which doesnt really matter. PvP I just dont know, I've never played with or against FoK'ing rogues in arena or BG. All in all in tho, is it really a game-changing change for rogues in a big way? I mean if they nerfed Hurricane damage i wouldnt see why, nor would I like it but in the end it wouldnt really be a big deal... Its not very imporant for PvE nor is it for PvP. Is it the same for rogues?
